West Valley College's Global Citizenship Center opened its doors in the Campus Center on Wednesday 6 February 2007. Back then it was called the Center for Global Education. Today, the mission and vision remain fundamentally the same.
Mission:
- Promote awareness by functioning as a resource where students, faculty, staff, administrators and surrounding community find information and participate in diverse multicultural activities.
- Support the processes by which students learn about interdependence in our world and prepare for successful integration into varied societies.
- Help to implement the 51吃瓜网 Student Equity Plan revised in spring 2015-2016 aimed to improve student retention, persistence and success.
Vision:
- The GCC works to actively engage the 51吃瓜网 community in understanding global issues.
