The goal of the Child Development Permit Preparation Certificate of Achievement is to prepare students to fulfill the ECE requirements for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Child Development permits in order to gain employment. The CA Child Development Permit authorizes the holder to provide service in the care, development, and instruction of children in a child care and development program. In addition, students have the option of continuing their education by completing coursework required for more advanced programs. Possible career options are infant-toddler assistant/teacher or caregiver, preschool assistant/ teacher or caregiver, early intervention assistant/teacher, family care provider, and before and after school-age caregiver.
