ENGL 007B: American Literature 2

Course Description

Students are introduced to works and writers representing the diverse literature emerging in America from the Civil War era through the present. Topics include major trends in realism, naturalism, and modernism, and may be selected from major authors such as Edna St. Vincent Millay, Maya Angelou, James Baldwin, Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, Robert Frost, Langston Hughes, Sylvia Plath, John Dos Passos, William Carlos Williams, H.D., and Ralph Ellison. This course reflects the department’s commitment to examine works from diverse perspectives and help students develop their authentic voices.
